training for my big enduro

so far the training for my six hour endurance race has been going well. but the last couple of weeks have been testing my patience because of the irratic weather. it seems like when ever i have time to go on a ride its either thirty degrees out side or its raining. but eventhough the weather has not been the best for riding, I was sill able to go on runs, or just do drills outside with my dogs soccer ball.

Mountain bike racing in Florida

And for as many trails there are inthat have you race around a track for a certain amount of laps usuallly Florida, there are as many races. ther are races anywere from endurance cross cou ntry races that pin the rider against there competitors but also shows how much pain they can endure, by having them race around a track and complete as many laps as they can in either six, twelve or even twenty four hours. Their are also regular cross country races that involves you going around a circuit for around an hour.

Different mountain biking trails in Florida

There is a wide aray of mountain bike trails in Florida eventhough we do not have any mountains. But we have very good trails all over the state. Anywhere from Santos mtb trail in bellveiw, which is one of the best trail systems in Fl. To tom Brown mtb park in Tallahasse which has tons of hills clay and roots that make for a very technically challenging trail. Or Oleta mtb park in Miami, which is a very interesting trail because in is onl a couple of blocks from many of the beaches and features tight turns, tons of loose lime rock and since it is on the coast, it features lots of mangrove roots.

mountain biking in Florida

yes I know that it sounds absurd, but their really is mountain biking in Florda. Mountain biking is a really fun way to see different areas that you most likely havent seen before. And it is also a great way to get some exercise. But mountain biking is one of my favorite pass times, and i am also in the midst of traing for a six hour endurance race in tampa. And something that is also interesting is that their is a really great trail system located in marion county called santos. Which features an insane twenty foot drop off a bunch of double black diamond and expert trails, but also intermediate and beginner trails. So one day if you get the chance you should give it a shot.

I hate cold weather

When is this cold weather going to pass, yes i understand that its alot colder in other parts of the country. But come on, its Florida. It shouldn't be 20 degrees outside. but what really stinks about the cold weather is that its too cold to go cycling or anything fun outside.
